On March 9th, the Barbie Doll will be 50 years old. I use to have one of those first Barbies... I remember drooling over her at Woolworths and had to save up for along time to finally have the $2.99 to buy her. How I wish I had that doll now. I do have reproduction of her, but not the original, sadly. I now collect dolls with Barbies being the biggest part of my collection.

Wow, 50 years?! I can remember my cousin having a Barbie doll with a wig. I was so envious ....
There was a Barbie that came out in the early 60's that came with three wigs. I always wanted that one too.
Wow. I had one of the original Barbies, too. She was brunette. I gave her to someone who had no dolls when my grandmother gave me Fashion Queen Barbie (the one with three wigs). But I have always missed my original. Recently I got a #4 brunette ponytail, so she at least looks more like my original. And she's in great shape, too.
Your collection is beautiful.
Fashion Queen Barbie is one that I want. Maybe someday I'll get it too..
